Our activities, which we bring into effect mostly within the NATURA 2000 area include protection and restoration of valuable natural sites and habitats of rare and endangered species. In cooperation with partners from the Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary we have implemented several successful crossborder projects.

Start of the season with nature, adventure and the 'Lake Neusiedl Card'
The spring sun warms the land and its people with its early powerful rays. As early as March, the Neusiedler See region invites you to 'wine in spring' and 'BirdExperience'.more info
Lake Neusiedl: Where spring first awakens
High quality is also offered by the varied National Park tours. Nature is unmistakably beautiful itself. When walking around the 'Lange Lacke' - one of these salty natural phenomena - or taking photos of deer in the Hanság, while watching at a high stand or when cycling around the lake. The binoculars should always be there! At any time, a chirping spring messenger can fly by or a Greylag Goose mother with her 'Gössel' waddle across the streets.
Another real pleasure is the 'Lake Neusiedl Card', which will be available from 1st of March to the end of February of the following year. Tried and tested thousands of times over and over again. The 'mother of all free guest cards' for the entire region: for overnight guests completely free and packed with over 50 free services and a variety of bonuses from sports, leisure, culture, nature, traffic and swimming fun.

National Park Fertő-Hanság
In front of the western gate of Hungary, the legends and fairy tales tell about a mysterious area. The enigmatic world of Lake Neusiedl and Hanság, which has been endowed with wild water and swamp, has changed over the centuries. The lake and the man-made landscape of the Hanság are a natural treasure that today is preserved by a common National Park of two countries.more info
In the areas that were once closed by the Iron Curtain, today visitors can enjoy a range of sights and have a rest in between, or even go on hikes.
The total area of the Fertő-Hanság National Park covers 23,731 ha. The Neusiedler See sub-area has been a protected landscape area since 1977, since 1979 part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Network. In 1989 it was declared an important wetland area for the Ramsar area. The national park title was awarded in 1991. Hanság, located east of the lake, has been a protected landscape area since 1976 and is part of the national park since 1994. The smallest mosaic of the National Park in terms of surface area, but by no means of lesser value, is the 'Rabnitz-Au' with its moorland meadows and alluvial forests.

More than 4.700 invertebrates, including 4.300 species of insects have been registered here of which 46 are completely new to science. However, plant diversity is no match for this wealth either: more than 1.300 plant species, including many rare aquatic plants, such as sea teapot, aquatic nut and clover fern, grow in this area.

Leidenschaft für Natur neu erleben.
In order to experience nature, you have to take nature as a model. For over 165 years, this has been a principle that is reflected in every idea, in every product and in every service from Carl Zeiss. Just as nature knows no standstill and is always in a state of flux, with tireless urge to explore and unconditional passion, Carl Zeiss always works to question the status quo and set new standards with technical innovations.
This enthusiasm has enabled us since 1846 to perfect the performance and quality of our products as well as our customer service. Take, for example, the world's first binoculars with roof prisms, the first riflescope with prism reversing system, our application-oriented product design or the design of optics with even better transmission values: and again, even the most demanding hunters, bird watchers and nature observers were convinced with new innovations.
ZEISS is divided into the four divisions Research & Quality Technology, Medical Technology, Vision Care / Consumer Products and Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology. The ZEISS Group is represented in more than 40 countries and has more than 50 sales and service locations worldwide, more than 30 production sites and around 25 research and development sites.
