A sing(k)ing skylark
The bird of the year 2019 is the focus of this excursion
The example of the skylark shows dramatic declines in the stocks of birds in cultivated lands. While in many agricultural landscapes hardly birds are to be found, the Seewinkel represents a mosaic of meadows, pasture lands but also shelter belts, vineyards and arable lands - a habitat for birds that has become rare.

Urban birding in Vienna
David Lindo and Christoph Roland accompany you on this foray through Austria's capital!
With David Lindo, the "Urban Birder" and Christoph Roland, author of "Birding Hotspots - 43 routes around lake Neusiedl", we head to Vienna, where we are looking for frequent and also rarer bird species in various urban habitats. The tour leads into the water park, where the breeding progress of the local grey herons can be observed. Another destination is the 'Augarten'. In this inner city park one encounters different types of woodpeckers and songbirds.
